During the week of spring break (and we sure use the term "spring" loosely!), Wynn had an opportunity to try out several new adventures.
The first of these was her first time in a swimming pool (and first time in a locker room, first time in a swimsuit). She was very nervous and excited, but after we got through the locker room and out to the pool, she never stopped smiling. She had a death-grip on me for a while, holding my arm, holding my hand, later riding on my back. It was a good thing; it was the most physical contact she has allowed (not only allowed - initiated!), and it's good that she uses me for security.
Nervous, coming out of the locker room.
Starting to be excited as we took a tour of the facility.
Almost all the pictures are grainy, but look at the smile!
This is a keeper, despite the poor quality, because it is the first picture of Wynn & me together. :)
After a trip to the Y pool, she got to go to Nana's. We weren't sure if she would go without the "whole family," but she did, and it looks like she has had a very good time.
At Nana's, she got to take her first bubble bath and go on her first camping trip with Nana and Uncle Matthew. They went somewhere on the Snake River (where, unlike here, it has been spring already.)
She got to sleep in a tent, eat s'mores, go fishing . . . and somewhere, she has picked up a cute baseball cap. She liked the campfire, grilled fish, and sleeping outside.
Eating s'mores with Cameron.
One of the two fish she caught - a big, gross sucker! She seemed familiar with this kind of fish - or maybe it is just shaped similarly enough to koi to seem familiar.
The other fish she caught was good to eat - she liked cayenne pepper and curry on it.
Sleeping with brothers in the tent.
From Nana's, she sent me the first e-mail I've gotten from her: "Your sons so jerk"
I'm going to assume she's feuding with Conor. They are after each other ALL THE TIME. Relentless! Luckily, it is good-natured squabbling - swiping each other's stuff and running off giggling, stealing each other's seat, pushing and tripping, stuff like that. It is always with a lot of noise, a lot of rowdiness, and some unnecessary roughness - but I can't remember a time when they've actually been mad at each other . . . yet.
I love the post and all Wen's first! Beautiful!
