Met a Wonderful Family
We went to eat lunch in town today just so Wynn could get out of the house for a while. (As good an excuse as any, right?) We stopped at Costco - which had not been on the agenda - and the kids wanted to run up the hill to the 50% Off Card Shop to look at Halloween costumes. (I handed the translator to Andrew and Mandy and said, "You try to explain to her about Halloween!") While we were there, I recognized a family from Spokane Families With Children from China yahoo group - one of the "older adoptee" girls whose pictures I had shown Wynn the other night and said I hoped we would meet. So I butted into their family outing and introduced myself and Wynn. They were so very gracious with our intrusion, and their older two girls, who speak Mandarin, tried to talk to Wynn, but she would have none of it. The mom and oldest girl gave cell phone numbers, so we can try again as Wynn comes out of her shell. God bless this wonderful family, and I do hope we will see them again!

God bless you Lora and Mike! What an amazing journey this will be for your whole family. Wynn is beautiful, and it seems like more and more she is coming out of her "shell." Thank you for sharing all that you do! Reva
ReplyDeleteSo shy? but she seems so confidant. I am sure she would love to have a friend to chatter with!
ReplyDeleteWould she be more comfortable if you invited the other girls over to your house? Maybe in her own environment she would warm up with time. maybe a nice family dinner with both families. I'm sure you have thought of that though.
